I would like to make a suggestion to the mighty of our world. But non of those “proposals” which the governments of wealthy countries usually make to the poor countries, no deal with the devil that is pushing poor countries even further into debts, as if poor countries had to pay for the impoverishment due to richer countries interventions. My suggestion is a result of the knowledge that the nature of human beings lays in the healthy and respected existence and co-existence with fellow humans, and not in starvation, conflicts, suppressions and the constant fear of the next war in the name of freedom and democracy to rage. Though some individuals nature seems to lie in the very opposite of this. I can see it in everyday news, how democratised Iraq has become since the pre-emptive strike, and to guess the way of establishment of democracy in Iraq for the next five years one doesn’t have to be a maniac reader of “The Economist”, because civil war usually keeps people away from electing wannabe governments. You don’t go to elections when your country suffers from civil war. You die, kill or hide. That the “Nation of Freedom” – the U.S.A. – doesn’t provide its citizen with much of a choice in democratic elections is a pity but true. Having the choice between two politicians behind which the same corporative power is making the decisions is lacking of that good old democracy spirit. Aggression is causing Aggression.
I don’t wonder anymore hearing bombs crush down every day, I would indeed if there where none.
It is sad that there is an increasing willingness of “democratic governments” to suppress and crush peaceful demonstrations and non-violent resistance. They don’t seem to take the people and human masses serious anymore, and opinions of millions of people are simply ignored. It is obvious that the natural extension of suppressed and ignored non-violent resistance is violence as a last resort, as seen in Palestine where terrorism seems to be the last relief of public expression. Many years of Israeli and American ignorance are being brought to the surface.
Nobody listened, now everybody has to feel.
So take each other’s hand you mighty people of our beautiful world and bring flowers back into the dreams of our children. But down all your weapons subsequently and be surprised by the scent of a world without uranium. I dream of a world in which it is possible to live without having to ignore the dying second half of worlds population. This is what life is about, being human, living ones live without losing have of the family due to famine, without losing a leg to the throat of a landmine which became hungry from all the years of lying around “useless”.
We would like to live. All of us! Not just those who enjoy the fruits of corporate Globalisation, as well those who get exploited and suffer from the very same system others take their profit from. Since the 70´s there is officially enough food in the world to feed all of it’s population. Communal human rights abuse, and all of us are guilty as long as we remain silent. It is time to move, to write, to scream and to speak out. There are endless ways of expression. With Arts, Music and Literature one can reach many people, reach the cores of their hearts. Let’s live our resistance and try not to die in Illusion, the truth is not convenient, I know.
Refuse Products of the big economic giants whose names and irresponsibility we all are aware of. Try to get along with less oil and fuel. Buy fair traded Products – avoid the big companies, big U.S. corporations respectively, because it was them who stole of us the last peace of democracy and keep on playing with our beautiful world. Become independent. International Corporations take their own decisions, far away from democracy and human rights. We have to become conscious about the fact that our communal and individual right of co-determination has been violated by worst. At the moment the northern hemisphere seems to be the privileged one, but Empires rise and fall as history teaches us, already I can feel the Wind of Change. I can see it in South America, in the Middle East and in the heads of many fellow thinkers in this world. I feel it every new day at which I have to deal with thousands of people who starve, suffer from malnutrition, die of AIDS, war or Sanctions (about 2 million children died due to the UN Sanctions on Iraq).
I can feel it rising inside myself. I feel the resistance.
